Howard Johnson Scholarship

The Howard Johnson Scholarship honors Interlake High School students who demonstrate excellence in the study of mathematics, science, or Career and Technical Education (CTE) and who have the intention of pursuing the study of these subjects following the high school years. The scholarship is designed to support the high school graduate in their initial full year of post-high school education and will be paid directly to the university or college attended by the student.

2023-2024 : Sidhya Ganesh - $5,800 scholarship

As a student at The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania, she will be pursuing a B.S. in Economics with business concentrations.

In the future, she hopes to start the first-ever Dance Analytics Company, to empower dancers and choreographers worldwide with a suite of unique AI products.

2022-2023 Howard Johnson Principal’s Scholarship of $5,600 is proudly presented to Owen Eastman in honor of his academic excellence in the study of Mathematics, Science and/or Career & Technical Education.

2020-2021: Courtney McCormack- $5,300 Scholarship

Courtney is headed to the Rochester Institute of Technology to study Chemical Engineering. She has been an ASB and class officer, varsity volleyball captain, and a 4.0 student.

2021-2022: Tanush Yadav - $5,500 Scholarship

Tanush Yadav graduated from Interlake High School in 2022 and completed an internship at Phase Genomics, where he developed and deployed bioinformatics tools. He co-founded Cascade Commons, an affordable online debate platform used by over 200 schools. He is a 2022 National Merit Scholarship Finalist. His career interests revolve around the application of computer science to solving global inequities. In his free time, Tanush enjoys running and biking through the Pacific Northwest. He will matriculate at the University of Washington in the fall of 2022.
