Fentanyl Prevention
The Bellevue School District is conducting education events on the risk of Fentanyl, and how to use Narcan to reverse an overdose.
Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid originally manufacture for relief of extreme pain, is now being manufactured illegally and laced into a variety of counterfeit medications and possibly other substances. The number of deaths due to drug overdose in King County has surged in the past 4 years, and in 2022, 70% of all confirmed overdose deaths were due to fentanyl. BSD is organizing a series of educational seminars and workshops on Fentanyl risks, Narcan administration, and mental health awareness.
BSD hosted Fentanyl Information & Opiod Awareness Night on Nov 15, 2023 - funded by Bellevue Schools Foundation
