Family Connection Centers

For school children facing homelessness or poverty in the Bellevue School District (BSD), funding cuts related to COVID mean that basic needs risk going unmet. BSD’s Family Connections Centers have always provided support for homeless and low-income children and youth: food, hygiene and cleaning supplies, and counselors to help them mitigate their stress.

At the start of this school year the district had three Family Connections Centers operating five days a week. Now, due to lack of funding, there are just two centers operating three half-days.  Centers are also running low on supplies. The Foundation has stepped in to pay for staff and supplies to keep remaining centers open and stocked.
