Debra Muren Scholarship

Debra Muren Scholarship, administered by Bellevue Schools Foundation is a three-year scholarship, $1,000 each year to celebrate a student from Health Careers Program.

Debra Jean Muren was a dedicated direct care nurse and compassionate caregiver, as well as a Bellevue Parent. After her death from early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2010, her family established the scholarship in her memory to support Bellevue students pursuing nursing degrees.

Megan graduated from Bellevue high in 2022. She completed an internship at Swedish Hospital and was the communications officer for her school’s HOSA chapter. She also passed the state exam, is now a Certified Nursing Assistant, all while lettering for 3 years on the Swim & Dive team. She will be pursuing a career in Nursing through Seattle University’s 4-year BSN program, and investing in all things healthcare! It is through her character, leadership, and commitment to service that Debra’s spirit is kept alive.
